On the Radar

MACRO CALENDAR
WED 21 OCT (CLOSE)WTI settled ~$97.15 (↓0.7%), Brent ~$108.8, still elevated on Strait of Hormuz tensions and US–Iran talks.GULF RISK
THU 22 OCTUS initial jobless claims; New Zealand Q3 CPI.
FRI 23 OCTFlash PMIs (Australia, UK, Eurozone, US); Japan core CPI; US revised UoM sentiment and inflation expectations.
WED 28 OCTFOMC rate decision (2:00pm ET). Fed in blackout until then. Expected to hold; markets price a high probability of a hike in December.

Spot gold is near $4,141/oz, rebounding after a nine-week low as oil-driven inflation fears keep rate-hike odds elevated. For AED-pegged, dollar-priced Dubai real estate: tighter global financing, and a Gulf oil shock that cuts both ways.
